Police constable’s legs severed while getting off a moving train  in Naogaon 

A police constable named Emran Mia (25) was seriously injured while getting off a moving train at Atrai in Naogaon. The tragic accident took place at Atrai railway station on Monday (April 6) morning. The injured Emran Mia is currently working in Bagerhat. His in-laws are in Taratia village of Atrai upazila. A police constable named Emran Mia (25) was seriously injured while getting off a moving train at Atrai in Naogaon. The tragic accident took place at Atrai railway station on Monday (April 6) morning.

The injured Emran Mia is currently working in Bagerhat. His in-laws are in Taratia village of Atrai upazila. However, his permanent address was not immediately known.

According to police and local sources, Emran Mia was going to his in-laws’ house by the Border Express train that left Khulna. When the train reached Atrai station in the morning, the speed slowed down a bit. At that time, when he tried to get off the moving train, he suddenly slipped and fell down and went under the wheels of the train.

As a result, both his legs were severed below the knees. Locals quickly rescued him and took him to Atrai Upazila Health Complex. After providing primary treatment there, he was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Atrai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Karim confirmed the incident.
