A meeting was held by new Deputy Commissioner Ms. Marjina Akhter with journalists of print and electronic media working in Madaripur district on April 6. The meeting was organized at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on Monday (April 6) afternoon.

At the meeting, the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner called on journalists to cooperate in social and developmental work. Ms. Morjina Akhter said in her speech, “Journalists are the mirror of society. If the administration and the media work hand in hand, the overall development of Madaripur district will be further accelerated. I believe that journalists will work as a supporting force for the administration by providing objective news.
She further added that in addition to promoting government development activities, the role of journalists is also very important in preventing various social problems, irregularities and corruption. This coordination between the administration and journalists will play a major role in positive changes in the district.

Senior officials of the administration were present at the meeting, including Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Al Noman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Jewel Ahmed, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Fatima Azrin Tanvi. Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Wadia Shabab was also present.

Senior journalists Mahbubur Rahman Badal, Belal Rizvi, Selim Farazi, Subal Biswas and representatives of various print and electronic media working in the district were present on behalf of the journalists. The journalists pledged to work in solidarity with the administration for the development of Madaripur and to provide objective news.

The entire event was held in a very cordial atmosphere and the administration assured all kinds of cooperation for the overall welfare of the district.
