Drum truck hits truck in Brahmanbaria CNG driver killed
Nasir Mia (22), a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw driver, was killed after being hit by a drum truck in the Malihata area of the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Brahmanbaria. The accident occurred around 11pm on Sunday (April 5) in the Sreedoba area of Malihata village in Sadar upazila. The deceased, Nasir Mia, is the son of Qutub Mia of Malihata area of Budhal union in the same upazila. Nasir Mia (22), a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw driver, was killed after being hit by a drum truck in the Malihata area of the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Brahmanbaria.
The accident occurred around 11pm on Sunday (April 5) in the Sreedoba area of Malihata village in Sadar upazila. The deceased, Nasir Mia, is the son of Qutub Mia of Malihata area of Budhal union in the same upazila.
According to police and local sources, a drum truck heading towards Dhaka hit a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw heading towards Bishwa Road at night. Auto-rickshaw driver Nasir Mia was seriously injured in the accident. He later died on the spot.
Khatihata Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Jahangir Alam confirmed the incident. He said preparations are underway to send the body of the deceased to the Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy after the post-mortem.
He further said that the deadly drum truck has been seized after the accident, but its driver has fled. Necessary legal action will be taken based on the complaint in this incident.
