Police recovered the hanging body of a young man named Shuvo Chakraborty (18) in Palash, Narsingdi. The body was recovered from his own house in Raban village of Jinardi union of the upazila on Monday (April 6) afternoon.
The deceased Shuvo Chakraborty is the son of Sujan Chakraborty of Raban village. He was a worker in a plastic factory in Bhagdi village of Ghorashal municipality area.
Talking to the deceased’s father Sujan Chakraborty and locals, it was learned that Shuvo Chakraborty fell in love with Swarna Chakraborty of Chattab village of Ghorashal municipality area and married her. They have an eight-month-old son named Dhrub Chakraborty. Since the marriage, Sujan’s family has not accepted this marriage. There were often quarrels in their family over this. On Sunday afternoon, the wife Swarna Chakraborty went to visit her father’s house with her child and left her husband at home.  On Monday morning, around 9 am, Shuvo Chakraborty’s wife Swarna Chakraborty came to her husband’s house to get milk for their baby son Dhruv. Later, after finding the door of the house locked and not getting any response from her husband despite calling out many times, she broke down the door with the help of locals and found Shuvo Chakraborty’s body hanging from the ceiling of the house. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot at noon and recovered his body.
Palash Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahed Al Mamun said that the body of the deceased has been recovered and sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. An investigation will be conducted into the incident to find out the reason for suicide and legal action will be taken.
