The Shibu Market Modern Fire Service and Civil Defense Station in Narayanganj was inaugurated by the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Nasimul Gani. He inaugurated the newly built modern fire station in Shibu Market, Narayanganj as the chief guest on Saturday, January 10 at 11:00 AM. Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, NDC, AFWC, PSC, Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department, Directors, Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, Deputy Director of Ansar, various ranks of officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Fire Service, media personnel, local volunteers and people from different walks of life were present on the occasion. When the chief guest of the event arrived at the fire station premises at 11 am, the Director General of the department welcomed the chief guest and took him to the stage to greet him. At this time, a group of smart fire fighters led by Warehouse Inspector Md. Zahirul Islam presented a guard of honor to the chief guest. After receiving the greetings, Senior Secretary unveiled the inauguration plaque of the Shibu Market Modern Fire Station. At this time, prayers were offered for the welfare of the country and the nation. Then he planted an Amrapali tree in the station premises. After planting the tree, the chief guest ascended the stage. At the beginning of the discussion, the Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj gave a welcome speech and praised the work of the fire service in various accidents. Then, the Director General of the department highlighted the various challenges of the fire service in his speech and sought the cooperation of the Narayanganj district administration, police administration and all the locals. In his speech to the guests and media personnel, the chief guest recalled his training as a fire service volunteer as a teenager. He expressed his satisfaction at being able to inaugurate the fire station and thanked everyone involved, including the Director General of the Fire Service. He suggested increasing the number of volunteers to deal with future risks and earthquakes. He emphasized on strengthening the media wing to increase the campaign activities to make the public aware. He concluded his speech by calling on them to always uphold their position in serving the people. Then, the chief guest answered various questions from the media personnel present. The chief guest then inspected the fire station’s barracks building, vehicle-pump and other facilities, signed the inspection book and participated in the lunch.
