He said, based on secret information, it is known that several Bangladeshi fishing boats from the area adjacent to Shahparir Island in Sabrang Union under Teknaf Police Station are fishing inside Myanmar by crossing the zero line of the Myanmar-Bangladesh water boundary. Based on the information received, a special operation was conducted by BCG Outpost Shahpari on Friday, August 29, 2025, in the Myanmar border area from the mouth of the Naf River adjacent to Naikshangdia in Myanmar to Jaliapara under the Shahparir Island border pillar-03 area. During the operation, 19 Bangladeshi fishing boats and 122 fishermen (29 Bangladeshis and 93 Rohingya) who were illegally crossing the zero line of the Myanmar-Bangladesh water boundary for the purpose of fishing were detained. It is worth noting that despite the ban, the tendency of Bangladeshi fishing boats to cross the zero line between Myanmar and Bangladesh and enter Myanmar to fish has increased significantly in the past few days. As a result, the Arakan Army is capturing Bangladeshi fishermen along with their boats almost every day. Legal action is underway regarding the arrested fishermen and seized boats.
