The Special Response Battalion (SRB) has arrested the accused Sampad Chandra Das (22) after rescuing a kidnapped girl from Narayanganj in Kotwali police station of Rangpur district. He was arrested and the kidnapped girl was rescued in a raid conducted on the night of October 6. The arrested Sampad Chandra Das (22) is the son of Shri Naresh Chandra Das of Kishamat Madhabpur village under Kotwali police station.
According to the case report, the victim girl is a 9th grade student of the local Bhurarghat High School, aged 14. The accused Sampad Chandra Das (22) used to harass the girl on her way to and from school. On July 5, 2025, at 6:30 pm, when the victim was standing on the road in front of the plaintiff’s house, the accused Sampad Chandra Das (22) with the help of some associates abducted the schoolgirl on an autobike. In this incident, the father of the girl filed a kidnapping case with the Kotwali Police Station as the plaintiff on July 22, 2025 (Case No. 09).
Based on specific information and secret information, a joint operation team of SRB-13, CPSC, Rangpur and SRB-11, Sadar Company, Narayanganj conducted a raid in the Dhuptara Kalirbazar area under Araihazar police station of Narayanganj district on October 6, 2026 at 8:50 pm and was able to arrest Sampad Chandra Das, the accused no. 1 in the kidnapping case of Kotwali police station of Rangpur district, and rescue the victim who was in his custody.
The victim and the accused have been handed over to the relevant police station for further legal action.
