This new initiative for waste management and road renovation in Narsingdi was taken under the leadership of Municipal Administrator Md. Shafiullah and the locations for the construction of three secondary transfer stations in the municipal area have been determined.
Narsingdi Municipality has determined potential locations for the construction of three secondary transfer stations (STS) with the aim of making waste management more modern, effective and orderly. Narsingdi Municipality Administrator Md. Shafiullah recently inspected and reviewed these locations. Chief Executive Officer FM Naeem Hasan Shuvo, District Chhatra Dal President Siddiqur Rahman Nahid and City Jubo Dal Convener Sumon Chowdhury and other leaders were present during the inspection.
Municipal Administrator Md. Shafiullah told the media that initiatives have already been taken to establish three secondary transfer stations in the municipal area to make the waste collection and transportation system more effective. Possible locations include the areas surrounding Narsingdi Baniachal and Railway Station, as well as the Arshinagar underpass and Madanganj area.
If the STSs are constructed, it will be easy to bring the waste collected from different areas to a specific place, temporarily store it and later regularly remove it to the designated destination. This will reduce the tendency of throwing waste anywhere on roads and public places, and the cleanliness activities in the municipal area will be more organized. If this initiative is implemented as part of the ongoing cleanliness and waste management activities led by Municipal Administrator Shafiullah, the concerned parties hope that it will reduce the suffering of the citizens and play an effective role in keeping the environment of Narsingdi municipal area cleaner. Narsingdi Municipality has sought the cooperation of the general public including the residents in this.
