Bangladesh ended their Asian Games hockey campaign on a losing note, suffering a heavy 10-0 defeat to strong India in their final Group A match at Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium here today.

India dominated from the outset, scoring once in the first quarter before launching a series of attacks in the second quarter to further extend their lead. Bangladesh went into halftime trailing heavily.

The Indian dominance continued after the break as Bangladesh struggled to contain their opponents’ relentless attacks in the third and fourth quarters.

Bangladesh had earlier beaten Sri Lanka 5-1 and Indonesia 3-1 after losing to South Korea 5-0 and hosts Japan 6-1 in their opening two matches.
