In the rapidly evolving world of information technology, written and oral examinations for the second batch of a skill development training program on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology were held in Nilphamari, aimed at equipping young people with proficiency in modern technology. Great enthusiasm was observed among the district’s young men and women regarding the examination held throughout the day on Saturday.

This examination was organized in Nilphamari—as it was in all 64 districts of the country—under the project titled “Skill Development of IT-Literate Youth through Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology,” implemented by the Department of Youth Development under the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Those associated with the project state that the use of artificial intelligence is rapidly expanding in the global job market. This training program will play a crucial role in preparing young people for this changing work environment. Through this two-month training program, initiatives have been taken to equip selected trainees with skills in various practical and job-oriented aspects of AI technology.

On Saturday morning, Kazi Mokhlesur Rahman, Additional Secretary of the Development Wing at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, inspected the examination center. During the visit, he reviewed the overall examination environment, the attendance of examinees, and various aspects of the management. Officials from the project and the Department of Youth Development were present during the inspection, including Md. Dilgir Alam, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development, Nilphamari; Assistant Director Hasan Ali; and Chhabi Rani, Coordinator of the flagship project on skill development through AI technology. According to sources associated with the project, a total of 1,437 individuals from Nilphamari district applied for the two-month AI training program. After clearing the initial screening and testing stages, 447 candidates participated in the written and oral examinations held on Saturday. From among these candidates, 25 will be finally selected for the training.

After inspecting the examination center, Additional Secretary Kazi Mokhlesur Rahman stated that in the current era, it is difficult to survive in the competitive job market without acquiring technological knowledge and skills. Artificial Intelligence is now playing a significant role in various sectors, including education, business, employment, and freelancing. Government initiatives aimed at equipping young people with AI technology skills could create new opportunities for future employment. He further stated that, in order to develop the country’s youth into skilled, technology-oriented human resources, emphasis is being placed on applying acquired knowledge in the actual workplace alongside training.

Project Coordinator Chhabi Rani stated that AI technology is currently transforming the nature of work across various sectors worldwide. Therefore, it is imperative to familiarize young people with artificial intelligence rather than limiting them to conventional information technology knowledge. This training will provide them with opportunities to learn new skills, enhance their professional capabilities, and prepare for the future workplace, alongside mastering the use of technology.

Noshin Anjum, a participant in the exam, stated that she applied for the training out of an interest in learning about artificial intelligence. In her view, acquiring skills in AI will better prepare them for future opportunities in employment, freelancing, and various online-based roles.

The day-long written and oral examinations were conducted in an orderly and peaceful atmosphere. The presence and enthusiasm of the candidates created a lively environment across the center. Organizers hope that the 25 young men and women selected through this training will be able to unlock new possibilities in their future careers by leveraging their knowledge of artificial intelligence.
