Sensational information about the night coaching business has come to light at the Hazir Hat Hamidia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa in Kamalnagar Upazila of Lakshmipur. This coaching program is being run at the madrasa from 8 pm to 9 pm every night with about a hundred students. It has been alleged that 3 thousand taka is being collected from each student in the name of coaching.

Not only the coaching business, but also the acting principal of the madrasa, Maulana Delwar Hossain, has been accused of various irregularities and corruption. Local sources also say that he regularly spends nights in his private room at the madrasa and is using the institution like his own home.

When he tried to speak to the principal, Maulana Delwar Hossain, at the madrasa at night to verify the truth of the incident, he became angry with the media personnel. He asked, “Why did you come at night? Whatever you have to say, come and tell me during office hours.”

However, the fact that a responsible head of an educational institution stays in a madrasa at night and uses the classroom to run a coaching business, disregarding government and institutional rules, has raised serious questions and anger in the public mind. The question from the conscious circles is – why does a principal spend night after night in a madrasa even after office hours are over? Has the madrasa become his personal residence?

When contacted, the Kamalnagar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) said, “I first came to know about this through media workers. There is no opportunity to get coaching or spend the night in the madrasa at night. Necessary measures will be taken after investigating this matter.”

Local parents and residents have demanded an immediate investigation and exemplary punishment against the accused principal, including an end to such irregularities and illegal coaching business.
