The accused in a murder case over a land dispute in the Domar police station area of ​​Nilphamari was arrested in a raid by the SRB from Dhaka

The SRB has arrested the accused in the case filed in the case of the murder of a person in a pre-planned land dispute in Domar police station area of ​​Nilphamari. On September 20, 2026, at 11.10 pm, DMP conducted a raid in Sector No. 8, Road No. 01, under Uttara Purba Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan City and arrested him. The arrested Yanur Rahman (45) is the accused in the case No. 02 and is the son of the deceased Abdur Rahim@ Budha of Holhalia Mirzaganj village of Domar police station in Nilphamari district.

According to the case file, there was a previous dispute with the plaintiff’s family members over land and family matters. The accused had been threatening to kill the plaintiff and the plaintiff’s family in various ways in a pre-planned manner. As a result, on 31/08/2026 at 02.30 am, the victim Ekramul Haque (65) went out of the house to respond to the call of nature, and the accused who were outside the house in a pre-planned manner took the victim Ekramul to an unknown place with the intention of killing him. Later, the victim was rescued from the culvert of the dirt road south of the residence of one Quddus Ali of Kerani Para village in Mirzaganj Mouza of Domar Police Station of Nilphamari district by the plaintiff Nazma Begum and immediately admitted to the Upazila Health Complex after primary treatment and then to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. The plaintiff’s husband, Ekramul Haque (65), died while undergoing treatment on 01/09/2026 at 01.45 am.

In this incident, the wife of the deceased, Nazma Begum, filed a murder case (Case No. 02) at Domar Police Station in Nilphamari district on September 1, 2026, naming 05 accused and against 5/6 unknown accused.

Considering the importance of the case, SRB-13 intensified intelligence surveillance to arrest the accused. In continuation of this, based on specific intelligence information, a joint operation team of SRB-13, CPC-2, Nilphamari and SRB-1, CPC-2, Uttara, Dhaka conducted a raid in Sector No. 8, Road No. 01, under Uttara East Police Station of DMP Dhaka Metropolitan City at 11.10 pm on 20 September 2026 and was able to arrest the absconding accused No. 02, Yanur Rahman (45), father-deceased Abdur Rahim @ Budha, Sang-Holhalia Mirzaganj, Thana-Domar, District-Nilphamari.

The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.
