A total of 83 new dengue patients were admitted to different government and private hospitals here during the past 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 39 were admitted to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital, 17 to the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) hospital, 16 to the 250-bed Chattogram General Hospital, three to Chattogram Mother and Child Hospital, three to different Upazila Health Complexes and five were admitted to various private hospitals and clinics.
This year, 2,840 people have, so far, been treated for dengue in the government hospitals, along with another 513 in different private hospitals and clinics, bringing the total number of cases to 3,353.
Of the cases, 3,131 patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospitals while 222 remain hospitalized, according to the dengue epidemiological report released by the Civil Surgeon’s Office here today.
Meanwhile, 16 people have died from dengue so far this year, it added.
