The Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has commented that the people of a political party are busy with chanting and chanting. He said, if you don’t have rice in your stomach, beg, but don’t extort money. Currently, farmers have no fertilizer, no rice in their stomachs, and there is no employment for the youth. There is no security at home, no money in the bank. The BNP government has handed over the key to extortion to one crore unemployed people. 
He made these remarks as the chief guest at an 11-party unity rally at Matidali Biman intersection in Bogura on Saturday afternoon. The speakers made various demands, including implementing the referendum verdict, ensuring the trial of the July murders and implementing the verdict quickly, resolving the fuel and fertilizer crisis, controlling the prices of essential commodities, improving the law and order situation, stopping partyization everywhere, ending the authoritarian system, preventing corruption, and stopping occupation and extortion. 
During the long march of the Jamaat-led 11-party alliance towards Dhaka-Rangpur highway, a road meeting was held at Matidali Biman intersection. It turned into a mass rally with a large number of leaders and activists and the general public present. In his speech, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman indicated a one-point movement. 
He said, the government is now denying the implementation of the referendum verdict. They have forgotten everything by saying that it will be implemented in July. Be prepared, there will be a call for a larger movement. If the government does not accept the 8 points of the 180 million people of the country, a 1-point movement will begin. Once again, we will return home free from fascism. The people will win this fight. 
The road meeting was presided over by Amir Principal Abidur Rahman Sohel of Bogura Metropolitan Jamaat. The meeting was moderated by Secretary Professor ASM Abdul Malek and Maulana Mansurur Rahman. The speakers were Colonel Dr. Oli Ahmed, Jamaat’s Central Nayeb-e-Amir ATM Azharul Islam, Professor Mujibur Rahman, NCP Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam, Southern Region Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Amir Maulana Mamunul Haque, Secretary General Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed, AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju, Bangladesh Nezame Islam Party Senior Nayeb-e-Amir Allama Abdul Majed Athari. 
Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further said that the government has betrayed the spirit of the July 24th Revolution. It is dreaming of running the country in an authoritarian manner again. The victorious people of the July Revolution will not allow any new fascist dictatorship to rule the country.
In his speech, NCP convener Nahid Islam said, “The government is betraying the people. We are the successors of Maulana Bhashani of Tangail. We must continue the struggle against Delhi’s hegemony.”
