New 20-bed ward inaugurated at BMU’s Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department

A new 20-bed ward of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the university was inaugurated on Monday, September 14, 2026, on the 5th floor of the Outpatient Department-2 of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). Vice-Chancellor of BMU, Professor Dr. FM Siddiqui, inaugurated the facility as the chief guest by cutting the ribbon. The inauguration of this 20-bed ward in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department fulfilled the long-awaited expectations of the country’s dental patients. At the same time, this addition opened a new horizon for the development of dental services in the country. Along with the inauguration of this ward in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, the Orthopedic Surgery Department of the University’s D Block has also been increased by 10 more beds in addition to the existing beds. Which will further accelerate the medical services of orthopedic patients in the country. In addition, an ICU unit for terminally ill patients has been recently launched in the C Block of the university. All these developmental activities will be marked as a new milestone in the development and expansion of medical services under the strong and dynamic leadership of the current administration of the university, including the Vice-Chancellor of BMU, Professor Dr. FM Siddiqui. After inaugurating the new 20-bed ward for male and female patients in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. FM Siddiqui visited it and spoke to the teachers, doctors and students of the department and gave various directional suggestions.
