RAB-5, Sadar Company Rajshahi, has arrested a youth named Md. Abdus Salam Sarkar (26) on charges of fraud and illegally collecting and providing various personal information using the confidential information of citizens stored on the Bangladesh Election Commission server during a raid in Manda Police Station area of Naogaon.
RAB-5 said that the arrested person illegally collected and provided information related to NID of various mobile SIMs, bKash and Nagad registration information, location of mobile SIMs, CDR or call details records, and SMS list information.
RAB claims that various illegal activities, including fraud, were being carried out using this secret and sensitive information. Legal action is under process against the person arrested in this incident.
