The election officer of Kamalnagar Upazila of Lakshmipur district has been accused of spreading false and fabricated propaganda on the social media platform Facebook. It has been claimed that a section of vested interests is spreading such mixed and misleading reactions, failing to achieve their personal interests. The officials of the concerned office and conscious circles have expressed strong condemnation and anger over this incident.
Regarding the incident, Kamalnagar Upazila Election Officer Abdullah Odud Ahmed Sumon said, “The highest level of service is provided to the common people who come to our office for services without any kind of harassment. A group is trying to discredit our specific and disciplined administrative work and is spreading misinformation on Facebook, failing to achieve personal interests.” He urged the public not to listen to such misleading information and strongly protested against the incident.
He further mentioned that the Kamalnagar Upazila Election Office is committed to ensuring citizen services with honesty and integrity in accordance with the policies of the Bangladesh Election Commission. According to office sources, legal action may be taken against attempts to tarnish the image of the office through propaganda.
