A police-magistracy conference was held in Narsingdi on Saturday with the aim of improving the law and order situation and increasing coordination in judicial activities.
The conference, organized at the auditorium of the Narsingdi District and Sessions Judge’s Court, was presided over by Chief Judicial Magistrate Yasin Habib as the chief guest.
The program was moderated by Senior Judicial Magistrate Mehedi Hasan.
Speakers included: Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Belal Hossain, learned Senior Judicial Magistrate Meshkatu Islam, learned Judicial Magistrate Sadia Afrin, and other police officers, the president of the association, Advocate Abdul Mannan Bhaiya, and the secretary, Advocate Majid Sikder, and learned PP Advocate Based Bhuiyan.
The conference was attended by learned judges, senior officers of the district police, the president and secretary of the district bar association, public prosecutors, and local media workers.
The meeting discussed various issues in detail, including the speedy disposal of pending cases, increasing the quality of investigation, issuing arrest warrants, and ensuring the presence of witnesses in court. Emphasis was placed on further strengthening mutual cooperation and coordination between the judiciary and the police administration.
At the end of the conference, the speakers expressed the hope that through such coordination meetings, it will be possible to reach fast and quality judicial services at the doorsteps of the people.
