Written exam for firefighter post held under strict supervision

The written examination for the post of firefighter of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department has been conducted under strict surveillance. The examination was held at 10 am on Friday, July 24, at BAF Shaheen College located at Jahangir Gate, Dhaka Cantonment. In order to conduct a transparent, corruption-free and clean recruitment process, the Fire Service and Civil Defense strictly implements the following measures while conducting written examinations: Banners warning against financial transactions or any immoral activities are hung at the entrance and at various places inside. After checking the admit card, the candidates are allowed to enter the main gate. At this time, it is ensured that they do not have any mobile or electronic devices with them. After entering the main gate, the candidates are allowed to enter the hall by matching their faces with the photos taken during the field examination. CCTV cameras are installed in each examination center and the activities of each stage of the examination are centrally monitored. In addition to closed circuit cameras, still and moving images of the examination are captured through video cameras and still cameras. Fire Service and Civil Defense officials are on duty in each hall along with teachers of BAF Shaheen College. After the examination, the list of those selected for the viva examination will be published on the official website of the Fire Service ( fireservice.gov.bd ) and Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/fscd.bd ) on the same day after the examination. A ban has been imposed on granting leave to anyone in the fire service except for urgent needs on the day of the written examination and the day before. Except for officers and employees performing assigned duties, access to the examination center during the recruitment period is not prohibited. The Chairman of the Recruitment Committee, Director (Administration and Finance) Mr. Md. Shahid Atahar Hossain, along with members of the Recruitment Committee, representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, PSC and Ministry of Public Administration, as well as the Director General of the Directorate, Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, NDC, AFWC, PSC, were present in person to observe the overall activities of the examination. The overall supervision of the security activities was under the supervision of Director (Training, Planning and Development) Lt. Col. MA Azad Anwar PSC. Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted in maintaining security. The Fire Service and Civil Defense Department expects everyone’s full cooperation to complete the recruitment process in a transparent, corruption-free and clean manner and specifically requests everyone not to engage in any kind of unethical transactions. It is to be noted that the number of vacant posts for recruitment is: Firefighter-165, Nursing Attendant-2, Driver-13 and Engine Driver-1. After the initial selection, 1842 people were selected for the written test. Out of these, 1773 people participated in the written test.
