A colorful inauguration ceremony of the new office of Purbo Shahily Nobojagoron Club, established under the slogan “Unity is Our Strength, Development is Our Goal,” was held recently at Purbo Shahily in Shibalaya Upazila. The event was attended by distinguished local personalities, journalists, representatives of various social organizations, youth members, and a large number of local residents, creating a festive atmosphere.
The club’s Chief Patron and Chief Adviser, Mr. Md. Haydar Ali, could not attend the ceremony due to illness. Representing him was his son, Md. Nayan Miah, Senior Joint Secretary of the club. He conveyed his father’s greetings and best wishes and sought the continued support and cooperation of the community for the club’s ongoing and future activities. The guests and local residents also prayed for the speedy and complete recovery of Mr. Haydar Ali.
The Chief Guest, Advocate Mohammad Sujauddin Bulbul, Additional Public Prosecutor of the District and Sessions Judge Court, Manikganj, was unable to attend the program due to unavoidable personal reasons. However, he extended his greetings and wished the club continued success and prosperity in its future endeavors.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by A.K.M. Wahiduzzaman Mabul, Vice President of Shibalaya Upazila BNP, and Abu Jahid Mohammad Mahmudul Amin (Duke), Former Chairman of Mohadebpur Union Parishad, as the inaugurators.
Among the special guests were Md. Ziaur Rahman, Former Member of Ward No. 1, Mohadebpur Union Parishad; Md. Akter Hossain, Adviser of Purbo Shahily Nobojagoron Club; Md. Surjo Miah, Adviser of Purbo Shahily Nobojagoron Club; and Md. Jahangir Alam, Adviser of Purbo Shahily Nobojagoron Club.
Also present at the ceremony were Md. Khokon Miah, General Secretary of the club; Md. Sofikul Islam, Vice President; Md. Parvez Hossain, Joint Secretary; Md. Aminur Miah, Treasurer; Sheikh Selim, Organizing Secretary; along with all members of the club.
The ceremony was presided over by the club’s President, Md. Roni Miah.
Guests were welcomed with floral greetings. On behalf of the club, Senior Joint Secretary Md. Nayan Miah welcomed the distinguished guests and outlined the club’s vision, objectives, and future plans. He stated that the club would work tirelessly for the welfare and development of the locality, focusing on its six core objectives: Education, Sports, Culture, Social Development, Environmental Development, and Harmony & Cooperation.
In his presidential address, Md. Roni Miah emphasized that improving education, healthcare, road communication, and sports facilities is essential for the sustainable development of Purbo Shahily. He stressed the need to establish a government primary school, improve road infrastructure, and develop a proper playground for local children and youth. He also reaffirmed the club’s commitment to building an educated, compassionate, united, and drug-free society with the support and cooperation of all.
The distinguished guests highly appreciated the noble initiative of Purbo Shahily Nobojagoron Club and encouraged the younger generation to continue their active involvement in social welfare and community development initiatives.
