Naogaon Public Theater is conducting theater-based activities to create awareness among the general public about democracy, good governance, gender equality, climate change, child marriage, and the harmful effects of drugs.
The organization is organizing street plays and awareness-raising cultural events in Sadar, Badalgachhi and Raninagar upazilas for three months in June, July and August to convey various social messages to the marginalized communities. Khan Foundation and Apos, Naogaon are collaborating in implementing this program.
Uttam Sarkar, president of Naogaon Public Theater, said, “Drama is an effective medium to easily reach out to people. Therefore, we are trying to create awareness among people on various social issues including democracy, good governance, child marriage, drugs, etc. through drama. We have been conducting various social and cultural activities throughout the year.”
Khan Foundation representative Md. Nuruzzaman Bulbul said, “We are proud to be a partner in the mass awareness activities of Naogaon Public Theater.”
SM Shahidul Alam, Executive Director of Apos, Naogaon, said, “Naogaon Public Theater has been conducting social and awareness programs for a long time. Their activities have already received a positive response from the general public. Apos will continue to support this organization in the future.”
General Secretary of Naogaon National Theatre Md. Abdul Hai Siddiqui Situ said that the organization is working as a social, cultural and awareness organization. He thanked Khan Foundation and Apos, Naogaon for their cooperation in the organization’s activities and sought everyone’s cooperation in the future.
