The formal journey of Naogaon University’s educational programs has begun with colorful arrangements, ending the long wait. The educational program was inaugurated by the chief guest Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon by unveiling the nameplate at the university’s temporary campus located at Barunkandi More area of the city on Saturday (July 18) at around 11:30 am.
After unveiling the plaque, the Education Minister toured the university’s various classrooms, modern library, and computer lab and provided necessary instructions to those concerned to ensure the quality of education.
State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam was present as the special guest at the inaugural ceremony. Education Secretary Abdul Khaleq, Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed and UGC member Professor Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun were also present as guests of honor at the ceremony.
Members of Parliament from six parliamentary constituencies of Naogaon were present at the event. Among them were Mostafizur Rahman from Naogaon-1, Md. Enamul Haque from Naogaon-2, Md. Fazle Huda from Naogaon-3, Dr. Ekramul Bari Tipu from Naogaon-4, Md. Zahidul Islam Dhalu from Naogaon-5 and Sheikh Md. Rezaul Islam from Naogaon-6.
Besides, Director of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Mohammad Hasanat Ali, District Council Administrator Md. Abu Bakr Siddique, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam and Police Superintendent Mohammad Tariqul Islam along with senior officials of the local administration were present.
After the formalities of the temporary campus, a grand gathering and welcoming ceremony for the new students was organized at the Naogaon Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium at around 12:15 pm. There, the chief guest and other invited guests welcomed the students with saplings of Amrupali trees.
The chief guest at the gathering was Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque, who delivered an important speech on the educational environment and goals of Milan University. Later, special guests also highlighted the importance and potential of the university in expanding higher education in Naogaon in their welcome speeches.
