A discussion meeting was held in Kotalipara, Gopalganj, on the occasion of July Martyrs’ Day with due respect. The discussion meeting was organized by the upazila administration to highlight the significance of the day.
The meeting held at the Lal Shapla Hallroom of the Upazila Parishad at 11 am on Thursday (July 16) was presided over by Upazila Executive Officer Sagufta Haque.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Masum Billah, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer S. M. Shahjahan Siraj, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Miraj Hossain, Kotalipara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Riyad Mahmud, Upazila Acting Secondary Education Officer Kazi Mohsin, Upazila Family Planning Officer Tanjila Khanam, Upazila BNP President SM Mohiuddin, General Secretary Abul Basar Howlader, Municipal BNP President Haji Yusuf Ali Daria, General Secretary Waliur Rahman Howlader, Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Mannan Sheikh, Kamalkuri High School Headmaster Idrisur Rahman Sardar and journalist Md. Kamrul Hasan.
At the discussion meeting, the speakers recalled the sacrifice of the July martyrs and remembered their contribution with respect. At the same time, they emphasized the country’s democratic progress, national unity and the history of the martyrs’ sacrifice to the coming generation.
At that time, Upazila Engineer Shafiul Azam, Upazila Cooperative Officer SM Shariful Islam, Kotalipara Palli Bidyut Samity DGM Mofizul Islam and Upazila BNP Vice President Rafiqul Islam, Office Secretary HM Abul Basar Bachchu, Jubo Dal President Ranjan Mallick, officials of various government departments, political leaders and well-wishers were present. Highlighting the significance of July Martyrs’ Day in the program, the speakers urged everyone to play a role in building a society with unity, patriotism and responsible citizens in the national interest.
