As part of the anti-drug operation under the direction of the Naogaon District Superintendent of Police, Naogaon Sadar Model Police Station has seized 47 liters of domestically brewed liquor in two separate operations. Two drug peddlers have been arrested during this operation.
On Saturday (July 11), a raid conducted based on a tip-off arrested a man named Bikash Chandra (36) with 40 liters of country-made liquor from Kuishadanga area of Sadar upazila. He is the son of AK Nath of Hapania area of Naogaon Sadar upazila.
On the same day, in a separate operation, another person named Shri Kartik Mahanta (38) was arrested from Nuniapatti area of Sadar Upazila with 7 liters of country-made liquor. He is the son of deceased Gopal Mahanta of Chakdev Nuniapara area.
Police said the recovered liquor has been seized. A separate regular case has been filed in this incident. Later, the two arrested accused were handed over to the court and sent to jail on the court’s orders.
