To mark National Rural Development Day, a discussion meeting and tree sapling distribution program was organized in Shalla Upazila of Sunamganj under the theme: “Developed Villages, Prosperous Nation — Bangladesh First.”
The program was held on Monday, July 6, at the Upazila Parishad Conference Room. The event was moderated by Kamrul Islam and presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Piyas Chandra Das. It was jointly organized by the Upazila Administration and the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB), Shalla, Sunamganj.
Among those who addressed the gathering were BNP Shalla Upazila Convener Sirajul Islam Siraj, Joint Convener Zakir Hossain, Abdul Karim Master, Jubo Dal Convener M. A. Razzak, Youth Development Officer Ataur Rahman, and journalist Bokul Ahmed Talukdar.
In their speeches, the speakers highlighted the importance of rural development and emphasized the significant role of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) in promoting economic prosperity and improving the quality of life in rural areas.
Following the discussion, tree saplings were distributed among beneficiaries to promote environmental conservation and expand greenery. The event was attended by officials of the local administration, representatives of BRDB, members of the electronic media, and other distinguished local citizens.
