Sewing machines have been distributed among the helpless and extremely poor trained women in Naogaon with the aim of creating employment. The Naogaon Sadar Upazila Administration and the Women’s Affairs Department organized it at the office of the Deputy Director of the Women’s Affairs Department on Wednesday afternoon. The chief guest at the organized program was – Naogaon-5 (Sadar) constituency MP Zahidul Islam Dhalu. At this time, under the chairmanship of Naogaon Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Shahin Mahmud, the Organizing Secretary of the District BNP Shafiul Azam Rana, Badalgachhi Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer (Deputy Director Additional Duty) Faruk Ahmed, Raninagar Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Shahina Akhtar and President Parveen spoke.
Other officials and employees of the Women’s Affairs Office and political leaders were present at the event. Later, the chief guest distributed sewing machines to 21 trained women.
The organizers said that the current government is working to improve the living standards of the grassroots people and to empower women economically. Women will play an important role in eliminating unemployment through practical education by utilizing this training. In the future, they will benefit economically through employment.
Later, the chief guest delivered a speech on ending violence against women and children and preventing child marriage.
