A discussion meeting was held in Brahmanbaria demanding protection of the land of “Sur Samrat Di Alauddin Sangeetangan”, established at the house of Sur Samrat Ustad Alauddin Khan, a great scholar of classical music.
This exchange of views was held at the Brahmanbaria Press Club auditorium on Saturday evening. The meeting, chaired by the convener of Sur Samrat Di Alauddin Sangeetangaan Suraksha Committee and former PP Adv. Md. The speakers at the meeting said that Sur Samrat Ustad Alauddin Khan established “Sur Samrat Di Alauddin Sangeetang” in his own name in the old Jail Road area of Brahmanbaria city. Where children and teenagers learn about music. The institution has been running for a long time with various government assistance. But recently, a group is trying to grab the land of Sur Samrat Di Alauddin Sangeetang through fake documents. In this situation, everyone, regardless of party affiliation, is called upon to unite to protect the land of Sur Samrat Di Alauddin Sangeetang from land grabbers.
In the exchange of views, a decision was taken to fight legally to protect the land of Sur Samrat Di Alauddin Sangeet and to hold a human chain program at the Brahmanbaria Press Club premises tomorrow, Monday at 10 am.

It is worth mentioning that Ustad Alauddin Khan purchased this 49th century house of the Sangeetanga in 1955. In 1956, Ustad Alauddin Khan Music College was established in this house through verbal donation. After independence, it was named as the Alauddin Sangeetanga. The institution has been practicing classical music along with other mediums of art. The trainees of this institution have been representing Brahmanbaria in the country and abroad, bringing honor to the district.
