A special medical campaign was held at Dhuljora Community Clinic in Babukhali Union of Mohammadpur Upazila of Magura to protect women’s health. On June 17, 2026 (Wednesday), women above the age of 30 in Babukhali Union were screened for cervical cancer.
Various directional discussions and awareness were provided to the women present in the campaign about the ways to prevent cervical cancer, its early symptoms, and its importance and necessity. Doctors said that if this cancer is detected in its early stages, it is completely curable. Therefore, it is very important for every woman above the age of 30 to get this test done.
In addition to the cervical examination, sputum and necessary samples are collected from potential tuberculosis patients (Presumptive Cases) who come to the campaign, which is an important step at the field level in controlling tuberculosis.
The concerned authorities said that in addition to this special campaign, there is an opportunity for cervical and breast cancer examination on any working day as part of regular services. Women interested in getting this examination done for free or at a nominal cost have been specially requested to contact Room No. 10 of the Outpatient Department of the hospital.
A large number of local health workers, CHCPs and women from Babukhali Union participated in this program. Local conscious circles consider such initiatives to be highly commendable to increase women’s health awareness at the rural level.
