The closing ceremony, prize distribution and exchange of views of the three-day “Anti-Corruption Debate Competition-2026” organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission in Kalai, Joypurhat in collaboration with the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee, Kalai was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium at 10:30 am today. The competition, which was held over three days on June 15, 16 and 17, was organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission Integrated District Office, Naogaon and the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee, Kalai, Joypurhat.
Kalai Upazila Executive Officer Shamim Ara was present as the chief guest at the event. Teachers and students of various educational institutions, welfare workers and members of the Corruption Prevention Committee were present at the event.
The topic of debate on the closing day of the competition was “Corruption cannot be curbed without political will.”
Thirteen educational institutions of the upazila participated in the competition. In the final round, Kalai Moen Uddin Government High School participated as the supporting team and Omar Kindergarten School as the opposing team.
After a fiercely competitive and logical debate, the winners (Omar Kindergarten School) were declared champions by the judges. The best debater in the competition was (Nuzhat Hossain from the opposing team of Omar Kindergarten School). The program was hosted by Abdur Noor Nahid, assistant teacher of Kalai Kakli School.
At the end of the program, the chief guest distributed prizes, crests and certificates among the winning and participating students. The speakers urged the students to be inspired by moral values, honesty and patriotism to build a corruption-free society.
