Integrated workshop on village courts held in Kotalipara

A workshop on integrated planning has been held in Kotalipara Upazila of Gopalganj with the participation of local government and private institutions to increase public awareness about village courts and ensure their effective role at the local level.The workshop was organized by the Upazila administration at the Lal Shapla Hallroom of the Upazila Parishad on Thursday (May 21) morning.Upazila Executive Officer Sagufta Haque spoke as the chief guest at the workshop. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Masum Billah spoke as the special guest.District Manager of the Bangladesh Village Court Activation (AVCB) Phase 3 Project Md. Aliul Hasnat Khan, Kotalipara Upazila Coordinator Khaleda Parveen, along with teachers, journalists, mosque imams and conscious citizens from different classes and professions of the society were present at the time.The workshop discussed in detail the benefits of village court activities, their role in resolving local disputes and various aspects of increasing public awareness. Along with this, the participants expressed various opinions and suggestions to make the village court more effective and people-friendly.Upazila Executive Officer Sagufta Haque said that the village court is an effective means of getting justice at the grassroots level quickly, easily and at low cost for the common people. Since minor disputes are settled locally, the pressure on the court is reduced and social harmony is also maintained. We have to work collectively to increase awareness among the people about the village court. If public awareness increases, the activities of the village court will be more dynamic and effective. Later, through a press conference,The closing ceremony of the three-day Bhumi Seva Mela was held in Kotalipara.
