Four teachers, including the center secretary and hall superintendent, have been relieved of their duties in the ongoing SSC examination in Kalkini, Madaripur, on charges of gross negligence in performing their duties and irregularities in the distribution of question papers.
On Thursday (April 30), Kalkini Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Saif ul Arefin confirmed this information to the media.
According to the upazila administration, the SSC ‘Bangladesh and World Introduction’ exam was going on at the Kalkini Government Pilot High School center on Tuesday. At that time, allegations of irregularities and negligence in the distribution of question papers among the students were made against the teachers in charge. When the matter came to the attention of the administration, an investigation was immediately started. As the investigation proved the truth of the allegations, the administration decided to dismiss the four teachers.
The exempted teachers are:
1. Shyama Prasad Pal (Acting Headmaster, Kalkini Government Pilot High School and Central Secretary),
2. Md. Nasir Uddin (Acting Headmaster, Gopalpur High School and Hall Superintendent),
3. Dilip Bairagi (Assistant Teacher, Kalinagar Fasciatala High School and Room Inspector) and
4. Ijazul Haque (Assistant Teacher, Krokirchar High School and Room Inspector).
Regarding such irresponsibility in the examination, Kalkini Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Saif ul Arefin said, “The allegation of irregularities in the distribution of questions has been proven in the investigation. Therefore, those four teachers have been immediately relieved of their duties.”
He further emphasized, “The administration is in a strict position to maintain a fair environment and transparency in public examinations. There is no room for any concessions in this regard.”
