An elderly man named Biren Bairagi (80) died after being hit by his younger brother over a land dispute in Naba village of Kapilmuni Union in Paikgachha Upazila of Khulna.
According to local sources, on Monday (April 27) at around 11 am, an argument broke out between the two brothers over family land. At one point, it turned into a fight. At that time, Biren Bairagi fell to the ground after being pushed by his younger brother Kiran Bairagi and was seriously injured.
Later, locals rescued him and took him to Kapilmuni 10-bed hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. The deceased, Biren Bairagi, is the son of the deceased Madar Bairagi of the village.
The incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the area and created a huge sensation. Paikgachha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Golam Kibria said, “Police were sent to the scene after receiving the news.”
