SSC and equivalent examinations are starting across the country, including the Jessore Education Board, from April 21. The concerned authorities have already said that all preparations have been completed. Candidates have collected their admit cards from April 6. They can also download and print them online.
According to sources from the Jessore Education Board, the exams will be held in 299 centers in 10 districts under the board this year. A total of 134,510 candidates will appear for the exam. Of these, 66,617 are male and 67,893 are female. Department-wise, 39,341 are in the science department, 81,951 in the humanities department, and 13,218 are in the business education department.
District-wise, the highest number of examinees was in Jessore district—21,957. The lowest number of examinees was in Narail district—6,062.
This year, a venue center has been determined for 61 students of Fulhata Secondary School in Bagerhat. Due to the dependence on shipping and the distance, they will take part in the examination at the nearby Fulhata Government Primary School.
Meanwhile, the board has canceled 19 venues used last year. At the same time, 19 new centers have been added. Students from 102 educational institutions will participate in the exam at the new centers.
18 vigilance teams have been formed to ensure that the exams are fair, free from cheating and peaceful. Various teams of the board are visiting important centers.
Jessore Education Board Examination Controller Professor Dr. Abdul Matin said, “We are determined to overcome the past bad reputation of public examinations and conduct acceptable and cheating-free examinations.”
Meanwhile, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon inspected the Jessore Education Board and directed the concerned to organize cheating-free examinations. He stressed the importance of conducting the examinations smoothly by participating in a view-exchange meeting with the central secretaries at the Jessore PTI conference room this afternoon. In addition to the secretaries of the 299 centers of the board, the concerned officials of the madrasa and technical boards were also present at the same event.
Later in the afternoon, he participated in a discussion with journalists at Jessore University of Science and Technology.
