Education enthusiast Shah Nazim Uddin Munan has been appointed president of the newly elected committee of Rajbari Degree College, a traditional educational institution in Nesarabad Upazila. National University Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah nominated him as president and Sifat Kamal as an honorary member.
In addition, the members of the approved management committee are, founding member – Fakir Shah Nasir Uddin (former director – Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and College Founder), educational member: Sifat Kamal (LLB, MBA), donor member: Md. Siddiqur Rahman Howlader (businessman), benefactor member: Asit Baran Das (Director, Asha International), guardian members: Md. Moniruzzaman, Md. Jahangir Hossain Howlader and Md. Idris Ali Fakir, teacher representatives: Md. Monirul Islam, Md. Fazlul Haque, Mohsina Akhter, member-secretary: Md. Nazrul Islam (acting principal).
Shah Nazim Uddin is the worthy son of the founder of the College, Fakir Nasir Uddin. Fakir Nasir Uddin established the college in 1994 in Byaskathi village of Guarekha union of Swarupkathi upazila of Pirojpur district to ensure higher education opportunities for the marginalized community. There are a total of 8 colleges in the entire upazila, which are working to light the light of education for about 2 lakh 12 thousand people from 137 villages of 10 unions. Among them, Rajbari Degree College occupies a special place.
Since its establishment, this college has become one of the centers of higher education for students from about five surrounding unions. The role of the college in consistently good results, improving the quality of education and increasing moral education and awareness is commendable. Many students here are now self-reliant, creating employment and successfully fulfilling their duties in various government and private institutions.
Not only the college, Fakir Nasir Uddin has made outstanding contributions to the spread of education. He established Egargram Sammilni Secondary School, E.G.S Vocational School, Patikelbari Dargah Sharif Dakhil Madrasa and Orphanage.
The newly elected President Shah Nazim Uddin Munan has rich experience in education and career. He obtained SSC from Ideal School in Dhaka, HSC from Dhaka Commerce College, BBA from Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), PGD from United International University and Masters degree from Canadian University. Moreover, he has received training in various subjects in the country and abroad.
In his professional life, he worked in various corporate and development organizations for 10 years and served as a consultant. Currently, he works as a career counselor in various educational institutions along with his own business.
The local people have expressed their hope that with his experience, leadership qualities and sincere efforts, Rajbari Degree College will reach new heights and become a role model of modern and quality education.
