As part of the ‘250 million tree plantation in 5 years’ program to implement Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s election promise, Narsingdi Sadar MP Khairul Kabir Khokon inaugurated the tree plantation program in the Zero Point area of Narsingdi city on Wednesday. Initially, ten thousand trees will be planted under the tree plantation program on the Nayapur-Araihazar-Narsingdi-Raipura road, said Md. Reza-e-Rabbi, Executive Engineer of the Roads Division, Narsingdi. The Roads and Highways Department, Road Transport and Highways Division will implement this program. Various types of trees including Neem, Jarul, Palash, Sonalo, Karbi, Cherry will be planted in different areas of the road. Among others present at the event were District BNP Vice President MA Jalil, Vice President Golam Kabir Kamal, Vice President Faruk Uddin Bhuiyan, Vice President Khabirul Islam Babul, Akbar Hossain, Aminul Haque Bachchu, Zahid Sarkar, Mahmudul Hasan Sumon, and leaders of BNP and its affiliate organizations.
