On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day 2026, Bangladesh National Museum organized a beautiful Bengali handwriting competition and award distribution ceremony for children and adolescents at the Nalinikanta Bhattasali Exhibition Gallery of the museum. A large number of students from various educational institutions from kindergarten to tenth grade participated spontaneously. The participants in the competition expressed their love for the mother tongue by displaying correct spelling, beauty of writing, layout and aesthetics of presentation. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Md. Sadequl Islam, Secretary of Bangladesh National Museum. Mr. Tanjim Wahab, Director General of Bangladesh National Museum, was present as the chief guest and presented the prizes and certificates to the winners. He said in his speech, it is our moral responsibility to inspire the new generation to practice pure and beautiful Bengali by embodying the spirit of the great language movement. The pure use and practice of the mother tongue is the true tribute to the language martyrs. The program was hosted by Mr. Asma Ferdousi, Keeper of the Public Education Department of the Bangladesh National Museum. Parents, teachers, and museum officials were present at the event.
