At the initiative of the fire service Mobile court operated

Yesterday, November 11, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a mobile court was conducted at various chemical godowns in SK Traders, 74 Puthighar, Shyambazar, Sutrapur, Dhaka by the initiative of Fire Service and Civil Defense. Through the mobile court, SK Traders officers and employees Nayan Debnath, Mizanur Rahman and Dipankar Roy were sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment and a fine of Tk 1,000 each, with an additional 15 days of imprisonment in default. In addition, officers and employees of the company Sushil Pal, Monoranjan Shiv and Md. Hashem were sentenced to 15 days of imprisonment each.

The punishment was given for storing chemicals in residential areas without following the policy, not having proper fire safety measures and not following various government instructions. The mobile court was conducted by Sharif Mohammad Helal Uddin, Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Dhaka. At that time, Kazi Nazmuzzaman, Assistant Director, Fire Service and Civil Defense, Dhaka; Mr. Faisalur Rahman, Zone Commander, Dhaka-5; Mr. Md. Enamul Haque, Zone Commander, Dhaka-1, 4 warehouse inspectors of Fire Service Dhaka and members of law enforcement agencies were present.

Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense, Dhaka, Kazi Nazmuzzaman said, “Apart from conducting various awareness-raising activities, mobile courts have been operated to strengthen fire safety. Mobile courts will be operated in the future to increase fire safety.” He requested all concerned to move illegal chemical warehouses from residential areas to safe places, considering the safety of people’s lives and property.
