Narsingdi Police have arrested an extortionist named Raju from Narsingdi on charges of obstructing house work by demanding extortion while constructing a house on the property purchased by Narsingdi Judge Court lawyer Abdullah Al Masud.

According to the incident report, Narsingdi Judge Court lawyer Advocate Abdul Al Masud purchased 3.5 percent of land in Daspara, Ghoradia Mouza, Narsingdi, from Sohrab Hossain in cash on 5/9/24 under the original document No. 10967. Since purchasing the land, lawyer Abdullah Al Masud has been encroaching on the land by issuing a title in his own name and encroaching on the land by enclosing a boundary around the house. In that sequence, on October 4, 2026, while lawyer Abdullah Al Masud was working at his house, a land grabber, drug dealer, extortionist named Raju from Narsingdi Daspara armed with weapons like a sword, knife, sword, etc., obstructed the work with Saju, Atiq, Sagar, Riaz and Bhandari and demanded a ransom of 5 lakh taka. The extortionist Rajgong threatened that he would not allow the lawyer to work at the house if the ransom money was not paid. After this incident, lawyer Abdullah Al Masud filed a written complaint at the Narsingdi Model Police Station. The police station and DB police were able to arrest the extortionist Raju. Then Abdullah Al Masud filed a case against extortionist Raju and 6 others in the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Narsingdi on October 14, 2026, alleging obstruction of housework and extortion, learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Belal Hossain ordered to take the case against the accused into consideration and treat it as a complaint. It is learned that there are three drug cases against extortionist Raju in Narsingdi Model Police Station, whose number is 1/29(5)19, 2/49(6)19, 3/31(6)22 and 2 extortion cases, whose case number is 4/9(7)16 and 5/37(7)13 and one weapon case and another robbery case in Shibpur Police Station. His maternal uncle is No. 6/19(3)10 and 18(3)10. There are a total of seven cases against him.
