The work of the Supey Pani project on a 25-acre area at the Paikgachha campus of Khulna University has officially begun at a cost of Tk 2.47 crore. The project will be completed within 3 months and the admission process for students in the Faculty of Agriculture will begin as soon as possible. This was confirmed by Khulna University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Rezaul Karim.
On Monday afternoon, high-ranking officials came to inspect the campus to complete all the activities at Khulna University’s second campus, Paikgachha. They said that the main goal of this project is to collect rainwater underground in the campus established on 25 acres of land. From there, it will be processed and supplied to the university teachers, students and everyone on the campus through a pump. The CAS activity for drinking water was closed until now. Very soon, in the current academic year, the admission process of 80 students in 4 departments, 20 each, will start. Halls have been constructed for the students. Two sets have been built to conduct research on cattle. In order to complete all these works quickly, Ziaur Rahman Foundation Director Amirul Islam Kagoji coordinated between the Department of Education and Engineering and Khulna University. Amirul Islam Kagoji said that the second campus of Khulna University is located in Paikgachha. Although it was established as an agricultural college, the current government has brought it under the purview of the university. For this reason, steps have been taken to start the activities as soon as possible. We hope that the activities will start within 2-3 months. Former engineer of Rural Development Academy, M. A. Matin, was present at the time.
