Imaz Uddin and his supporters have been accused of encroaching on a plot of land in Naogaon’s Mahadevpur and erecting a bamboo fence in front of their house due to a land dispute. This has caused problems for farmer Adam Ali Pramanik and his family members in their movement for the past week. A complaint has been filed with the police station regarding the incident.
According to the complaint, Imaz Uddin and Adam Ali of Madhuban village in the upazila are brothers. Adam Ali claims that he has been using the barn on the east side of the house for about 20 years. Recently, a dispute arose between the two parties over a fig tree. After that, tree saplings were planted in the barn and a bamboo fence was put up.
Adam Ali alleged that people from Imaz Uddin’s side and people from the side of the deceased Abu Said surrounded the house. After the fence was put up, he had to go through the neighbors’ houses to leave the house. Due to this, he and his family members have suffered.
However, Imaaz Uddin’s son Ikhtiar Uddin Duronto denied the allegations. He said that they did not occupy the land. The people of the deceased Abu Said’s party occupied the land and fenced it. They only watched the incident from the side while the fence was being built. He said that his uncle filed a false case against them in this incident.
Ikhtiyar Uddin also said that the brick wall of their toilet was being damaged by a fig tree at his uncle’s house. He did not do so even though he was asked to remove the tree.
On the other hand, Adam Ali Pramanik said that they have been using the barn in front of the house for a long time. After a dispute with his elder brother over a tree, the land was measured. Later, people from the side of the deceased Abu Said came there, surrounded the place with a bamboo fence and planted tree saplings. He alleged that his elder brother and nephews also cooperated in this work.
He said that the fencing is causing problems for the movement of family members. He demanded that the matter be investigated and necessary action be taken.
Mahadevpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Omar Faruk said, “A complaint has been filed with the police station regarding the matter. Necessary action will be taken after investigation.”
