Kidnapped girl rescued from Gaibandha in Barguna, main accused arrested
The Special Response Battalion (SRB) has arrested the accused uncle Amirul Islam Amir (43) after rescuing a girl who was kidnapped in Amtoli, Barguna from Sundarganj, Gaibandha. He was arrested in a raid last night. The arrested Amirul Islam is the son of the deceased Abdul Matin Mia of Ramdhan Sundarganj Palli under Sundarganj Police Station. According to the case report, the accused Amir is the victim's maternal uncle. He had been living in the victim's house as a house-in-law since marriage. When the victim went missing from home on September 27, 2026, her father filed a missing person's report....

The Special Response Battalion (SRB) has arrested the accused uncle Amirul Islam Amir (43) after rescuing a girl who was kidnapped in Amtoli, Barguna from Sundarganj, Gaibandha. He was arrested in a raid last night. The arrested Amirul Islam is the son of the deceased Abdul Matin Mia of Ramdhan Sundarganj Palli under Sundarganj Police Station.
According to the case report, the accused Amir is the victim’s maternal uncle. He had been living in the victim’s house as a house-in-law since marriage. When the victim went missing from home on September 27, 2026, her father filed a missing person’s report. Later, he came to know from people that his sister-in-law Amir had kidnapped his daughter and taken her to an unknown place in a bus. In this incident, the girl’s father filed a kidnapping case at Amtali Police Station.
Based on a secret information, a joint operation team of CPC-3, SRB-13, Gaibandha and SRB-8, CPC-1 Patuakhali Camp conducted a raid in Matinpur area under Sundarganj police station of Gaibandha district on the night of October 05, 2026 and arrested the main accused Amirul Islam Amir in the kidnapping case of Amtoli police station of Barguna district. During this, the kidnapped girl was rescued.
The victim and the accused have been handed over to the relevant police station for further legal action.
