Like other countries of the world, the day is being celebrated appropriately in our upazila as well. She said that rabies is a very serious and fatal disease, but the great hope is that this disease is 100% preventable through the right steps and precautions at the right time.
Dr. Ahsanara said that rabies is mainly transmitted to humans through the bite or scratch of an infected dog, cat, fox, badger or monkey. Once the germs of this disease enter the body and symptoms appear, death is almost inevitable. Therefore, there is no room for negligence or superstition about this disease. The Upazila Health Complex has a system for rabies vaccination or treatment, said the responsible official of the Upazila Health Complex.
