Bogura Television Reporters Unity handed over responsibility
The newly elected committee of the Television Reporters Unity (BTRU) elected in Bogura has been handed over its responsibilities. The newly elected committee of the Television Reporters Unity (BTRU) elected in Bogura has been handed over its responsibilities. The concerned discussed the unification of journalists working in television, professional security, enhancing skills, and protecting their rights and dignity.
The responsibility was handed over to the new executive council of the organization on Sunday afternoon. The ceremony was presided over by the chairman of the election management committee, Matiul Islam Sadi, at the Bogura Press Club. The newly elected president of Television Reporters Unity, Aminur Rahman Mohan Akhand, and general secretary Meherul Sujan formally took charge.
Present at the event were Ganesh Das, president of the Journalists Union Bogura and member of the election management committee, Atiqur Rahman Sohag, former convener of the Bogura Press Club Wasiqur Rahman Bechan, vice-president of the Press Club Rahat Ahmed Ritu, general secretary Kalam Azad, general secretary of the Journalists Union Bogura and BTRU-elected vice-president SM Abu Sayeed, Shafiqul Islam Shafiq of the Bogura Photojournalist Association, BTRU-elected joint general secretary Rajib Selim, organizing secretary Sanju Roy, treasurer Abdul Awal, members Bobin Rahman, Abdur Rahim Mondal, Shahnewaz Shawon and Humaira Akhtar Jahan.
The speakers said that the organization is playing an effective role in improving the working environment, safety, and social status of journalists working on television. Steps are being taken to create a united position of professional journalists against misinformation, rumors, targeted news, and misreporting. In addition to increasing objective news, professional unity, and mutual cooperation, there are regular discussions on issues of professional development, including problems and prospects.
It is worth mentioning that professional journalists working in television united and formed a new unity (convener committee) on March 7. DBC News senior reporter Aminur Rahman Mohan Akhand was made the convener and Jamuna Television bureau chief Meherul Sujan was made the member secretary. Voting for the festive election was held at the Bogura Press Club last Friday. 27 voters of the organization exercised their voting rights. Chief Election Commissioner Matiul Islam Sadi announced the results.
