Boat race held in Paikgachha on the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja
On the occasion of Sri Sri Bishwakarma Puja in Khulna's Paikgachha, a traditional boat race of rural Bengal was held in the closed river of Khaliarchawk. Former UP Chairman of Soladana and former General Secretary of Upazila BNP SM Enamul Haque was present as the chief guest at the boat race held on Friday afternoon. On the occasion of Sri Sri Bishwakarma Puja in Khulna’s Paikgachha, a traditional boat race of rural Bengal was held in the closed river of Khaliarchawk. Former UP Chairman of Soladana and former General Secretary of Upazila BNP SM Enamul Haque was present as the chief guest at the boat race held on Friday afternoon. The event was presided over by the president of the organizing committee, prominent businessman Shivpada Mandal, and was attended by former UP member Adhir Chandra Mandal, rural doctor Govinda Mandal, Akhil Mandal, former president of Union BNP Aminul Islam, former secretary A.H. Hakim, Kalipada Mandal, famous traveling actor Shivpada Mandal, Kishore Kumar Mandal, Golok Mandal, local UP member Shekhar Chandra Dhali, Prashant Mandal, Bishwanath Mandal, Nikhil Mandal, Shankar Mandal and leaders of the organizing committee. The program was hosted by Piyush Kumar Mondal and Mani Shankar Sardar.
At the end of the race, in the presence of many eager spectators, the organizing committee and guests presented cash prizes to the winning team, Uttar Kainmukhi, and the runner-up, Soladana. It is worth noting that on this occasion, a duck-catching and swimming competition, along with a Bhasan song, were held.
