Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) Shaheed Dr. Milton Hall Thursday, September 10, 2026, under the initiative of BMU’s Department of Hematology and Medistan Healthcare along with several other renowned institutions, organized a CME program and Hemato Oncology Screening and Consultation Program on ‘Conditioning for Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplantation’ with the slogan ‘One Day, Two Initiative’. The chief guest was the Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Medical University, Professor Dr. FM Siddiqui. The special guest was the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Development) Professor Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman Howlader. The keynote address was presented by Dr. Vivor Sharma, Head of Bone Marrow Transplantation, Asian Institute of Medical Sciences. In all these arrangements, emphasis was placed on ensuring the most modern medical services for complex patients suffering from various hematological or blood problems and diseases at Bangladesh Medical University. At the same time, strong optimism was expressed for the beginning of a new horizon in bone marrow transplantation at BMU. In particular, special emphasis was given to taking forward the activities of establishing a bone marrow transplantation center at Bangladesh Medical University. The CME program informed that under the Hemato Oncology Screening and Consultation Program, a team of five foreign specialist doctors and the specialist doctors of the Hematology Department of BMU jointly screened and recorded the disease history of 160 hematological patients of the country on Thursday. The selected patients who need bone marrow transplantation will undergo bone marrow transplantation at BMU itself. The CME program was attended by the Director of Medisthan Healthcare Dr. Maskur Ahmed Usmani, Chairman of the Hematology Department Professor Dr. Md. Rafiquzzaman Khan, Professor Dr. Md.
