The news of Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, a member of the standing committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and a 5-time MP from Narsingdi-2 (Palash) constituency, getting a place in the cabinet is spreading joy and excitement throughout his constituency Narsingdi-2 (Palash) and the entire Narsingdi district. Earlier, Moin Khan had served as a minister and state minister several times.
Immediately after taking oath as a member of the cabinet of the newly appointed government on Friday, there was great enthusiasm among the general public, including leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates in Palash and Narsingdi areas. At this time, local leaders and activists were happy.
Locals said that Dr. Abdul Moin Khan is an experienced and clean politician. He has successfully served as a minister and state minister in various important ministries of the government before. Under his leadership, Palash and Narsingdi have undergone extensive infrastructural development and progress in education and technology. Local leaders and the general public expressed hope that the overall development activities of the region and the country will be more dynamic with his re-joining the cabinet of the new government.
Mustafa Kamal, head teacher of Palash Beam Laboratory School, said that Dr. Abdul Moin Khan becoming a minister has reflected the hopes of the people of Palash. Such an important ministry is safe in the hands of a skilled, honest and internationally renowned person like him. Under his leadership, the overall infrastructural development of this country is possible.
Alam Mollah, president of Ghorashal Municipality BNP and former vice chairman of Upazila Parishad, said, “The responsibility of the local government, rural development and cooperatives ministry in the hands of a clean politician like Moin Khan will mean that the roads and quality of life of the entire country, including Narsingdi, will be improved. He was a trusted confidant of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and was a minister three times. I am grateful to the creator for being given the responsibility of a 5-time MP and a 4th time minister. Just as Moin Khan stood at the forefront of all movements and struggles on the highway under the leadership of Khaleda Zia during the previous authoritarian government. I believe that he will build the country as a role model for development by being the shadow of the current BNP chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.” Narsingdi Inter-District Road Transport Owners Association President Sarwar Hossain Mridha said, “The news of Moin Khan becoming a minister is undoubtedly a happy news for the people of Narsingdi.”  May the Creator keep him healthy and give him the opportunity to perform his duties with good reputation and success.
Mostafizur Rahman Papon, member secretary of Palash Upazila Chhatra Dal, said emotionally, “I have nothing more to ask for in my life. I will only say that the Creator should give Dr. Abdul Moin Khan Sir a long life and keep him healthy. Today, all the wishes of life have been fulfilled. Our only dream was to see Moin Khan Sir sitting in such a seat.

It is worth noting that Dr. Abdul Moin Khan is a prominent politician, educationist and a member of the standing committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He was born on January 1, 1947.
He passed his higher secondary from Notre Dame College and obtained his PhD degree from the University of Sussex, UK, in 1973. Before joining politics fully, he was a professor in the Department of Physics at Dhaka University.
He was elected as a Member of Parliament from Narsingdi-2 (Palash) constituency several times (1991, 1996, interim, 2001 and 2025).
As a minister, he served as the State Minister for Planning from 1993–1996, the Minister of Information from 2001–2002, and the Minister of Science and ICT from 2002–2006.
In December 2009, he was nominated as a member of the highest policy-making committee of the BNP, i.e. the Standing Committee.
His father, Abdul Momen Khan, was one of the founders of the BNP and a former Food Minister. Momen Khan also contributed to the overall development of Narsingdi.
