The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested four people, including the main accused, in the death of a man named Ada Chandra Das over a land dispute in Dashlia village of Naldanga union in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha. They were arrested in a raid conducted in the Sadar police station area of ​​Bogra district on August 22. The arrested are 01. Nipen Das alias Khailsha (61), 02. Shankraj Sen alias Thakur Das (28), 03. Satya Sen alias Satya Das (21) and 04. Shankari Rani (51).

The case file shows that the victim Adachandra Das and his elder brother Nipen Chandra Das had been in a dispute over the boundaries of the family home for a long time. On Thursday, July 3, 2026, when Nipen Chandra Das started building a toilet in the disputed area, there was an argument between the two families. The next day, July 4, 2026, at around 10:00 am, the victim’s family again prohibited Nipen Das from building the toilet and proposed to resolve the matter locally. On the same day, in the afternoon, when Ada Chandra Das went to graze goats in front of his house, Nipen Chandra Das and his two sons Shankharaj and Satya Das, along with other family members, surrounded him and started slashing him with sharp weapons. When the locals came forward to hear his screams, the attackers fled. After rescuing Ada Chandra Das in a seriously injured condition, he was taken to Gaibandha General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared the victim Ada Das dead.

In this incident, the victim’s son filed a murder case (Case No. 04) with Sadullapur Police Station on July 4, 2026. Since the case was filed, the accused have gone into hiding to avoid arrest.

Considering the importance of the case, RAB-13 intensified intelligence surveillance to arrest the accused. In continuation of this, based on specific intelligence information, a joint operation team of CPC-3, RAB-13, Gaibandha and CPSC, RAB-12, Bogra conducted a raid at the house of one Abdur Razzak in Nataipara area under Sadar police station of Bogra district at 12.30 am on 22 August 2026 and was able to arrest Nipen Das, the main accused in the case of hacking his uncle to death in Dashlia Beharapara (Raypara) village of Sadullapur police station of Gaibandha district, his two sons Shankharaj Sen alias Thakur Das and Satya Sen alias Satya Das and Nipen Das’ wife Shankari Rani.

The arrested accused have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action. It is learnt that RAB will continue such operations to eradicate various serious crimes including murder, kidnapping, rape from the society and to ensure public safety.
