RAB has arrested three accused from Kashimpur police station in Gazipur city in connection with a murder case over a family dispute in Kishoreganj, Nilphamari. The arrested Akash Roy, Shyamal Roy and Babita Rani Roy are residents of Dakshin Bahagili Sanyasipara (Ghaterpar) village under Kishoreganj police station in Nilphamari district.

According to the case file, the accused had been in a dispute with the victim’s family over various family matters for a long time. As a result, on August 7, 2026, at approximately 11:00 pm, the accused organized themselves in a pre-planned manner and entered the courtyard of the victim’s family’s house. At that time, they started abusing and threatening her in foul language. When the plaintiff protested against such actions of the accused, they beat her. When the plaintiff’s parents came to the scene after hearing the plaintiff’s screams, the accused dragged the plaintiff’s mother by the hair and sexually assaulted her and beat her father indiscriminately, injuring her in various parts of the body. At one stage, the accused hit the plaintiff’s father on the head with the intention of killing him, causing serious lacerations and bloody wounds and tried to strangle him to death. When the local relatives and people around the victim’s family came forward to hear the screams of the victim’s family, the accused intimidated and threatened them and fled the scene. Later, with the help of locals, the injured were rescued and first taken to the Upazila Health Complex. When the physical condition of the plaintiff’s father deteriorated there, the doctor on duty referred him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment. While undergoing treatment, he died at 3.39 pm on 16 August 2026.

In the said incident, the victim’s son Kajal Gir (26) filed a murder case (Case No. 13) with Kishoreganj Police Station of Nilphamari district on 16 August 2026, naming 08 people. Since the case was filed, the accused have left the area and gone into hiding to avoid arrest by law enforcement agencies.

Considering the importance of the case, RAB-13 intensified intelligence surveillance to arrest the accused. In continuation of this, on the basis of specific intelligence information, a joint operation team of RAB-1, CPSC, Porabari, Gazipur and RAB-13, CPC-2, Nilphamari RAB Camp conducted a raid on Alal’s rented house in Delta More area, opposite Delta Garments under Kashimpur Police Station of Gazipur metropolis at 04.45 pm on 18 August 2026. The accused named in the murder case mentioned in the raid were 1. Akash Roy (22), father- Shyamal Roy 2. Shyamal Roy (45), father- Tarani Roy 3. Babita Rani Roy (42), husband- Shyamal Roy of Sarbsang- South Bahagili Sanyasipara (Ghaterpar), Police Station- Kishoreganj, District- Nilphamari.

The arrested accused have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action. RAB will continue such operations to eradicate various serious crimes including murder, kidnapping, rape from the society and to ensure public safety.
