Today, on August 16, 2026, the certificate distribution ceremony of the sixth (6th) batch of students of the ‘Certificate Course on Neurodevelopmental Disorders’ was successfully completed at the initiative of the Institute of Pediatric Neurodisorders and Autism (IPNA). Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. FM Siddiqui was present as the chief guest at the event. The event was presided over by EPNA Director Professor Dr. Kazi Ashraful Islam. This specialized course was organized with the aim of improving the quality of services for children with autism and neurodevelopmental disorders in Bangladesh and creating skilled human resources. This year’s batch included therapists, psychologists, special education teachers, and parents of children with autism from different parts of the country. In his speech as the chief guest, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. FM Siddiqui said that those who have taken this training should take this education as a humanitarian and social responsibility. Awareness should be raised among teachers, guardians, and students in primary schools, that creating skilled professionals and aware guardians for the proper care and rehabilitation of children with neurodevelopmental disorders in Bangladesh is very important. This course will not only enhance the professional skills of therapists and teachers, but will also make guardians self-reliant in helping their children in a scientific way. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development) Professor Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman Howlader said that he urged educational institutions to raise awareness and that steps should be taken at the family level to prevent children from using mobile phones. Treasurer Professor Dr. Nahrin Akhtar said, “During pregnancy, we must be careful about the mother and child, and we must be aware of disease prevention during tests. We called for special emphasis on publicity, promotion and awareness.” In his speech, EPNA Director Professor Dr. Kazi Ashraful Islam said that he officially handed over certificates to the students who successfully completed the course and called for improving the quality of life of children by applying this acquired knowledge at the field level. Professor Dr. Syeda Tabassum Alam delivered the welcome speech and gave a presentation. She said that through this training program, the concept of this disease and proper treatment will be spread throughout the country, and that this training program will play an important role in building a beautiful and healthy society. She presented the overall topic in her documentary. Senior officials of EPNA, concerned specialist doctors, teachers and invited guests were present at the event.
