With the motto ‘Bangladesh is my pride’, the Elite Force Rapid Action Battalion has been conducting regular operations against the all-consuming drug menace. Every member of RAB-13, Rangpur is working relentlessly with utmost sincerity and professionalism to make the area under its responsibility drug-free.

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a couple with 353 bottles of phensedyl in a raid in Purbaparpugi village under Sadar police station of Thakurgaon district. They were arrested in a raid last night. The arrested are Md. Korban Ali (41), father-deceased Abul Khair and his wife Md. Jasmine Khatun (27) of Purbaparpugi village under Thakurgaon Sadar police station.

On July 21, 2026, at around 03.30 pm, based on specific information, a team of CPC-1, RAB-13, Dinajpur Camp conducted a raid in Purbaparpugi village of Jamalpur Union No. 10 under Sadar Police Station of Thakurgaon district. During the raid, a house of Md. Korban Ali of that village was searched and a total of 353 bottles of phensidyl, 183 bottles of phensidyl, 157 bottles of Escafe and 13 bottles of MKDil, including narcotics, were seized from inside the semi-detached house. In addition, cash worth Tk 23,700/- was recovered from the drug trade. Accused 1. Md. Korban Ali (41), father- deceased Abul Khair and his wife Md. Jasmine Khatun (27), both of Purbaparpugi, Thana- Thakurgaon Sadar, District- Thakurgaon were arrested.

Initially, it was learned that the arrested accused are professional drug dealers. They have been storing drugs in their homes for a long time and have been supplying and buying and selling them in various districts of Rangpur division including Thakurgaon.

In the said incident, RAB has filed a case under the Narcotics Control Act against the arrested accused. The arrested accused along with the seized evidence have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action. In addition, as part of the implementation of the current government’s zero tolerance policy against drugs, RAB-13’s intelligence activities and ongoing operations will continue.
